Image Recovery Program Ideas?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good image recovery program I can download for free?

My grandson used his digital camera while they were vacation in Disney World. During the trip he took close to 200 pictures. Towards the end of the trip he put the camera up for the night and went back to it in the a.m. only to find it saying 'no images' on the card. He checked and nothing was left. Had no idea how this happened but really felt bad since it was most of their vacation pictures on there. He took one picture to see if it would work, it did, but he decided not to mess with it so no other pictures were placed on the card after it messed up except for the one.

I tried a few websites last night but the only one that I found could only recover 27 images and the pictures found looked almost like clip art pictures that had nothing to do with the ones he took. I had the choose to exit or keep the images found and I exited out so I would not mess up anything that may be on the card.

So anyone have any suggestions what to do next to retrieve the pictures off this card? Any programs? Anything?

Would a camera shop know about what to do? I didn't know there was such a program. Did you try the card in another camera to see if it works?

You can try this Google search to see if there's anything suitable.. depending on what caused the loss, they most likely can be recovered thru the use of software.

Pandora is a good one. As is Disk Digger DiskDigger - free data recovery made easy | DmitryBrant.com .
Either should get the job done. However, with data recovery, there is no guarantee. Try both, one may get what the other wont.

Hey thanks guys!!! After trying a few others I found and about to give up I read this and decided on Pandora and it worked great!

All is great now and my grandson thinks I am really smart lol. What a good feeling.

I might have to give Pandora a try myself.. I've had mixed success in the past. Some programs will say they recovered a file and it's either actually empty or corrupted.
