You do not have to put photos in a specific category. You can just place them in your member gallery. The categories are there, in case people are in the mood to look at architecture, or maybe pictures of sunsets. When you add the photo to a category, it stays in your member gallery.
Right now you are only allowed to place a photo in one category. With the contests we are planning, we are thinking we might allow posting in more than one category.
I recently reorganized the categories and added a few new ones. Feel free to make your suggestions for new categories. We don't want to give too many to pick from but we will certainly taken any categories under advisement.
I was thinking a category for humor, maybe one for floral and vegetation.
