If you could post one picture you have taken and was most proud of what would it be? I will start. (I like looking at pictures!)

My daughter's Gecko...his name was Geico.

Re: Favorite Picture

Nice thumbnail, Scarberry2003. If you use the text formatting option, you'll find a little yellow square with a mountain sort of image, and maybe a postage stamp on it. This tool will allow for you to insert a full size image into your message.

Difficult task to find just the right one to post as a favorite. I'll have to look them all over, again.

To pick one pic.........impossible. Can I pick 3 fav of each and every critter that lives here?? I might be able to narrow it down to that.

Re: Favorite Picture

lol I know exactly how you feel Carol. Impossible. Maybe one picture in each section such as one for pets, one for landscape, one for flowers, one for nature, one for sunsets, one for...well you get the idea. lol That's the only way I could maybe almost..kinda...pick just one picture.

In your case Carol it would have to be one for each type of animal, one for raccoons, one for....lol well, that might be difficult too.

oh well...I'll try to decide and post one later.

Re: Favorite Picture

Didn't mean to make it a hard assignment. I have lots of favorites, but the one of Geico was one of the best I have taken. And I wasn't even trying and was having trouble with the camera plus trying to get him to stay still. I hope to see more pictures. I am off to Whitewater.....State Marching Band competition. I have a Senior and a Freshman in it. One is a Colorguard Commander the other plays a Bass Clarinet. So once you find out out there marching then try to find the other..your lose the first one. It is a challenge. Well, I am off. It is a 3 and a half hr ride and it done get done til 10:30ish at night. So we won't be home til about 2-3am.

Re: Favorite Picture

No more pictures posted since I posted last. I thought people would love to show off their prize picture.

My kids took 2nd place in Whitewater. Only 1 point away from first. It was very close. Excellent time, but one LONG day! It was sad in a way as that was the last time we would see our daughter in Colorguard for the Marching band. I will post a few pictures in a different post.

Re: Favorite Picture

This is the only one I had time to find today. I will have others later this week. (I know it said one favorite, but I've never been one for rules! ) Technically, I'm cheating with the picture, too. I think my husband actually took this one, but it is still my favorite from this past year. It's my daughter at a place called "Wizard Quest" in Wisconsin Dells.

Re: Favorite Picture

every picture tells a story
a picture is worth a thousand words
a diamond has many many facets
try to select a facet you like the most
select a picture you like the most
I am wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too old
I have taken wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many shots

anything that sparks a memeory or feeling or just hits me
awesome I shot that. There have been so many old and I could pick a different one out each day depending on my mood.

This was taken this summer and inspired stoney. Maybe it's not the picture as much is it is the story but it seems no matter how far we have progressed we still find ourselves in conflict with a war as a resolution to the conflict.

as taken from this thread.
On the road to Stephenson

after all these years
and so many tears
young men still
march off without any fears
some return with badges of honor
some in boxes with a flag as their armor
how many more will tell this tale
how more more lives will be impaled
how many dawns will be brought on
and yet the young men still march on
war is not the answer
nor is it fate
pray for peace
it's not too late

how more more lives will be dashed

and yet the young men march on
the same old way

Re: Favorite Picture

OK, I have thought and thought on this and there is no way I could possibly pick just one and say it is my favorite picture that I have taken. ..

So, what I decided is to narrow it down to; what is my favorite photo that I snapped this week? (good thing it wasn't a week ago, had several then.).

Sunrise by the lake.

Re: Favorite Picture

This is Brighton. He was one of our foster dogs that found his furever home.
Read his story.

Brighton’s Journey

B eginning a new life.

There were two volunteers that saved me at the last minute from a shelter near the Illinois/Indiana border. IBR stepped in and transported me to a safe foster home. I was moved around, scared at times, and finally ended up at a home in southern Wisconsin.

R isking the heartbreak of attachment.

It was here, at this foster home that I fell in love. I felt secure and safe. It had been a long time. I had Libby and Sherman to play with and a great family with grandkids. Swimming in the pond. I loved everyday. Everyday was perfect.

I magining a permanent home

I knew that I was in a foster home. Libby and Sherman would tell me stories about some of the other dogs that they had known. Watson and Simon had visited in the past. They never teased me or were mean to me in any way. They knew and they tried to make me feel at home but I knew. I knew that this was not my home. I knew in my heart that I would find my own special family. Someday. I hoped.

G iving all of my love

I would wake everyday, sometimes on the bed with my foster Mom and Dad, and sometimes on the floor with Libby and Sherman. It was great. I was happy all of the time. Once I even fell asleep on the back of the chair. Maybe I thought that I was a cat. I loved being around everyone. I think they loved being around me. I know they did. I was a great dog.

H ome at last

I remember the day. I was a nice day outside. There was some snow left on the ground. The sun was shining. My foster Mom and Dad took me for a ride. I was hoping so much that I was going to my new furever home. It was. The first to greet me was Jura. She was gorgeous. Could this be it. It was. The 3 girls came outside to see me followed closely by Marty and Bill. I was home. Finally.

T ouched and loved

It was early March 2007. I think that was the luckiest dog ever. What a great family. The children are great. I loved being hugged and petted all of the time. This home was perfect. The yard had so many places to explore. I even liked the cats, Spike and Winston. I loved the way that Marty would always greet me and Bill would give me just a little extra attention when Jura wasn’t looking.

O utburst of emotions

I wasn’t feeling good for some time. I tried to not let it show but the pain was almost more then I could hide. They knew that I was not feeling good and tried everything they could to help me. I knew that they all loved me so much. There were tears and hugs. I remember that it was a long good bye. I was ready. I will miss all of them.

N othingness

I remember feeling dizzy then nothing at all. The pain was gone. No fear. Peace at last.

B right lights

I first saw the lights right after the pain stopped. They were close but it seems that it took me a long time. I was there. I could see so many that knew me. Knew me from somewhere.

R ainbow Bridge

As I crossed the bridge the first to greet me was Angus. It was Marty and Bill’s cat that Winston and Spike told me about. I shared my stories with everyone around me. This is a nice place. I like it here.

I mmortality

There is a certain feeling that I have here. It is one continuous day. It is all fun, no worries, and many new friends. I am happy. I am so happy.

G ardens

I run in the gardens all of the time. There are birds and butterflies, people and dogs. There are children riding bikes and swinging on the swings. There is so much to see and explore.

H appiness

It’s a state of mind. I love it. I am so happy here.

T errestrial

I do miss all of the family’s that helped me find my home. Most of all I miss my family the Buchan’s. I can only hope that they do not grieve for me for to long. I am in a better place and waiting for that day sometime many long years from now that one of them crosses the Rainbow Bridge and I am there to greet them just as Angus was there to greet me.The Triplets, the cats, and Jura need a new friend to take my place.

O verwhelmed

It is something that happens to all of us. It could be from grief, from happiness, from excitement, from anticipation, or from fear. I have felt all of these sensations in my short life. It is nice to be at a peaceful and wonderful place.

N ever ending

Sunrise by the lake.
WOW PK that is a beautiful picture. Postcard pic for WI.

Re: Favorite Picture

Several years ago I used to deliver the Wausau Daily Herald Newspaper. It is a 7 day a week job, 365 days a year. I did that for 18 months. That is all I could take! 150 miles per day on average at least. But the only good thing I could say about that job was being able to see the most amazing things. Sunrises were awesome! The wildlife was great. But I would have to say the most amazing thing I saw was the Northern Lights one time. They were stunning. My best friend lives in Alaska. She sends me pictures with the Northern Lights as they are the best there. Sure makes you wonder sometimes about life when you sit back and see those.

She sends me great pictures of the mountains, the eagles, the northern lights. I will have to get them together and put them in the gallery sometime.
