Streets of Chicago

On our day trip to Chicago last week we went to the Shedd Museum, and then took the free trolley to check out Macy's downtown. We decided to walk back to the train station which was a great way to see the streets downtown.

Here is a picture that gives you an understanding of what it must feel to be an 'ant' in a big world. lol

It's a typical day in Chicago to some, but to us it was a fantastic treat to come up on a Chicago Corner 'Band'.

These guys were totally great as they made music on their turned over 5 gallon plastic pails! Now that is talent!

My oldest daughter brought with us her friend's daughter. She was a total tourist and had fun looking at all the sites! It was fun seeing the city through her 'eye's'....lol She could not get over this next picture. It is a crane working near the top of a new high rise building! She was so amazed how this crane was way high in the sky. Personally I have no idea how someone does this job! I hate heights! lol Could not pay me enough to get me to even go up there for a minute let alone all day working! lol

Even though we have been in Chicago many times it's still a fun adventure when we go down for a day. For thousands of others...

I always liked driving really fast under the "EL" on Wacker Drive. Good times. Wacker Drive has 3 levels, and was built to last at least 100 years. Some of the "Chase Scene" in the "Blues Brothers" movie was shot on Lower Wacker Drive

Are you from the Chicago area or just visited alot?

I visited frequently, as I have an uncle living in Chicago, that recently retired from the The Mercantile Exchange. I also served in the US Naval reserve, and attended my monthly drill week-ends at NAS Glenview Illinois. The base was in operation from 1923 until 1995, when it was demolished, and made into a real estate development, now named "The Glen".
