Equipment...
So I'm still stuck on 35mm cameras...I work with a Canon Rebel 2000, and a Minolta X-547...
I want to get a digital camera within the next year...but in the mean time I'm still doing it the "old fashion" way...and by that I don't mean silver plates, and glass negatives...
So I'd love to hear what people are shooting with...SLR, Point and shoots...Disposable Cameras (if you are shooting great pictures with disposables, I'd love to see them)...or any other type of camera, give a quick review and recommendation...

When I used a 35 mm camera I loved using our Canon and our Minolta. But when we made the switch to a digital camera I was totally hooked. lol
We now have a Canon EOS digital Rebel and it has been my most favorite camera I have ever had. It's simply an awesome camera. I would highly recommend that you research about this comera when you are in the market to puchase one before you look at any of the others.
One feature that was a selling point for us was the fact that it was the best one we could afford that would take the shots we needed when our kids were in compitition swim and diving off the diving board. It will shoot so fast that it didn't miss anything and didn't blur from the action.
When we first got the camera I had my son run full tilt at me while I was shooting and it was great. You could almost feel the wind frozen on his hair or see it in his shirt behind him as he was running and it was totally clear.
We also have a stereo view lens that I bought off Ebay that is totally fun to have as an extra 'toy'. Also we have the 300 mm lens we bought right after we purchased the camera.
I will say that I totally have a ton of things I can learn from this camera. I am a real amature at picture taking...lol but if anyone needs to learn, then it's really fun to have this camera to learn on.
One of my favorite photos I took this past week, (I seem to have a different favorite like every week) lol but check out the dandalion fourm and see the one full view picture I took and you will see how nice this camera takes clear pictures.
Hope this helped you to decide.

Canon wins again..
yeah I have that Canon Rebel 2000 and I love it, so when I'm ready to upgrade I'm looking at any of the Canon models that are currently out there...the main reason is, I have a great lens on my Rebel, it's a 28-200 lens, and It will work nicely on the DSLR that I get, it was an expensive lens so it would be nice to use it with the new camera too...
I'm leaving on vacation next week, and with any luck and proper planning this will be the last vacation I take with my 35mm...next big trip I take I hope to have something digital.

When I was very young, I had a Brownie box camera that used 120 roll film. It was a challange to load and unlaod thae film, and yes it was black and white. When I was in high school I used did not own a Kodak 35 mm.
Years later when I had children I used a minolta 126 cartridge film camera.
Later on a aquired a Rolifex twin lens reflex camera that used 2/1/4 square film. That was an outstanding camera but tricky to load the film.
I finally got a cheap russian made slr and used that for a few years until I could save for a Nikon Nikkormat FT2. I still have that along with a Nikon F no light meter and the one of the few camera made that actually shoots a full 35 mm format negative.
When I got into biking I bought a cheap Bell and Howel motorized 35 mmm fixed focus camera. It had a great view finder and I found it the best veiwfinder I have ever used for picture composition. But the reliabilty of the motor drive was bad.
In 2003 I bought a Minolta F1 digital camera, it is only 4 megapixel but at the time it was about as good as you could get. That is the only problem with digital cameras, the technolgy changes so fast that buy the time you buy one they are obsolete.
I do think digital is the BEST way to go just from the polution standpoint. Just think of all the less wasted chemicals because film is not made,or developed. But then that really obsoletes my 35mm cameras. soon it will be impossible to buy film for them.
I do have a scanner that can scan film soI can digitize my 35mm photos.
The drawback on digital.... they really suck batteries big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More on Equipment...
I believe I own that Brownie Box Camera, or something equivalent...It's in my camera archive collection...
I agree on the pollution standpoint of 35mm of course I never actually thought of it before, but I've developed my own film in the past and I can see how dangerous those chemicals are...but they sure smelled good, at least to me.
I don't have a negative scanner, but what I usually do is pay for the 1 hour processing of the negatives only, I have never been satisfied with the results I got at 1 hour photo stands...so I just process the negatives and then take their CD...and retouch in photoshop...
It's almost instantaneous like digital is, I take a picture on a Saturday, and I can have it on my computer by Sunday...of course the instant gratification isn't what I'm looking for in photography...

anytime you scan "DUST IS THE ENIMY"
I buy compressed air by the truck load
I like having control over the output. I bought a 6400x6400 dpi scanner and the first time I scanned a negative at that resolution I created 1 gigabyte file!!!!!!!!! my system was thrashing so much it took over an hour to see anything and then even the slightest move and it was refresh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so thinking I was a smart guy, I went into the processor settings to reset the priorities. That was a big time disaster!!!!!!!!!
