Kohler-Andrae Beach
This shot was taken on the beach at Kohler-Andrae State park. A place we discovered a few years ago. This shot could be taken at Point beach as well, since both look similar. What amazes me is the vasteness, and no way to see the other side of the lake. When I visit any beach on the great lakes and I have been to them all, I see no difference between them and the ocean. We have it made in Wisconsin with so many places like this to visit. Just take a walk by yourself on one these beaches and you will find inner peace.
We are campig here this fall and I just made reservations for next year.

Speaking of ocean-like, the last time I was at Kohler-Andrae, we saw _surfers_. I know there's a form of low-wave surfing you can do on the Great Lakes but that's not something you see everywhere on Lake Michigan.
Let us know what the camping accomodations are like. I've visited to go hiking a few times, but we've never stayed there.

We visited here before and I remember it being very beautiful. We did not camp either so please let us know what you think of it if you do stay sometime.

Kohler-Andrae State Park in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is the home of majestic sand dunes, miles of golden beach, shimmering blue Lake Michigan water, whispering pines, an abundance of wildlife, and recreational activities for everyone. Kohler-Andrae State Park is one of the last natural preserves along the Lake Michigan shore, and is open for everyone to explore and enjoy.

We have camped at Kohler_Andrae a few times. Since we first began camping we have become more wussy all the time. There was a time when electricty was not needed and now we must have it!!
So we have camped in both the electrified sites and non-electrified sites.
This is a great campground but they could use an update in the shower area, but it is acceptable enough for a weekend.
There is much to do with the beach, dunes, nature center and a marsh trail.
They also have group camping and for the most part thet seems like an active area for boy scouts etc. Oh yea on the roof of the nature center is a deck to view the night sky. (cool)
That is great with very little light polution, you can reach up and grab a star.
I have one small but irritating issue with the staff. I will get over it though.
They say I need to clean-up after my dog and we do but since a horse is considered a vehicle clean-up is not required.
funny thing is if I park horse in my garage, my community calls that live stock and is not allowed. I also bet they would require a horse to be tied up but I never had to tie-up my van to no stinking hitching post.
I could go on and on about DNR stuff. enough said.
Go to the park and ENJOY IT!!!!!!!!!
One note, this is a very popular spot we have reservations for next year in August ALREADY!!!!!!!!!
see at the campfire!!!!
