AlumniClub has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Wanted: Goat Information

I am looking for information on raising goats as outdoor pets and was wondering if any one has any information that would be helpful. I will have about 8 acres of pasture to work with and it is fenced in with barb wire and a old electric fence line. I never done this before and am just looking for information for later.
The land is pasture but a few trees will be added later. I wonder what type of goat would be the best for this area, There is a moose farm across the road. The back is open to the next property which is also 20-30 acre pasture, The deer come right up to the home and also graze the land. Also what type of trees and other animals are good with goats?
What will I need to make this a success, I am looking at only a pair of goats to start out? If you have any information or experience to share, I would appreciate that.
Thank you

re: link

Thank you GB2 for that link.

I read that once before but did not know if that info about breeds here in WI was the same as Califorina or do we have Northern breeds?

Orm says he has some for sale, RR. He might be able to give you some of the information you seek, as well. Just need to have patients when trying to figure out what he's going on about.
