Seems like a worthy cause.. we used to buy our meats locally direct from the meat packer and it gives you pause when you pull in the drive and see a load of cattle in a holding pen and you realize this is where your roast or steak originates.
I also live in a town with a Butterball factory and am always hearing horror stories of working kicking and throwing turkeys, etc.
Don't get me wrong, I love my beef, pork, fish, and poultry but hope to see animals treated humanely.

Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1986 to combat the abuses of factory farming and to encourage a new awareness and understanding about "farm animals." At Farm Sanctuary, these animals are our friends, not our food.
Over the years, we have rescued thousands of animals, and educated millions of people about their plight. People are shocked to learn about the intolerable conditions that are commonplace on today's industrialized farms.
Our rescue and education work continues, as we advocate for laws and policies to prevent suffering and promote compassion. We are reaching out to legislators and businesses, and working to bring about institutional reforms.

Gloria lived at a racetrack, but she wasn't there to run, and she didn't. She couldn't. Nor could she roam or graze or lounge in the grass. For the first eight years of her life, Gloria was tied up in a barn. Neglected by those responsible for her care, the helpless goat suffered from a painful udder condition that was left untreated and negatively impacted her quality of life.
