Re: CWAS Fall Fish Auction

They have one every year in the spring and fall. They also hold a fish show in the fall. That was just two weeks ago. My prize male Pearl Scale angelfish took BEST IN SHOW. :-)

Re: CWAS Fall Fish Auction

It's got to be pretty hard ~ I'd think ~ moving fish to a fish show.
Do you have much smaller tanks you use? How do you go about keeping the filters etc running during transport? I've seen those blue battery packs for fish tanks...do you use something like that?

Congrats on the Best of the Show

Post Re: CWAS Fall Fish Auction

My fish never get transported far. This was my first fish show being a participant. So it was very cool. I won the BIG TROPHY!!! :-)

For short travel, they do fine in a bag or bucket depending on the size of the fish. I do have Bag Buddies, it is a tablet you add to their water which provides them oxygen, a sedative to keep them calm, and something that helps control the ammonia levels.

I know there are others who use a regular like Igloo Cooler and drilled two holes on top...run air line down with an air stone then the have an air pump which plugs into their cigarette lighter. Pretty cool. With the cooler idea, it will maintain a temp for a better period of time.

Re: CWAS Fall Fish Auction

Very interesting!!

When I moved out here from Milwaukee Hoffers had me get a large plastic garbage can. I basically emptied my 75 gal tank into this and transported my fish that way. They did great in the drive and made the move fine.

It all fell apart once here and trying to get the water just so....did everything I always did in the past, but the water is so bad here it just kept killing my fish. I just dont keep fish any more.
