As playful as a skunk may be, they still seem to paranoid for me to just hang out with. As long as I'm able to convey to them that I have dominion over them, all will be well.
Not to mention, their scent is somewhat of a nuisance. Otherwise, I like them. They're quiet.

But see, these guys dont stink. They are decented at birth. They dont carry that musky smell like ferrets do. I got my skunks from a USDA breeder. They are not wild.

They are most happy sleeping all day and playing all nigh. I do have a new one coming here tomorrow, so then I'll have 3 skunks.

They are most entertaining when they are out playing. Mine are loners. They prefer each other over people. The new one coming tomorrow I hear is more of a snuggler.

When I was quite young my father owned horses, raised poodles, and beagles, had a bunch of cats, and I do remember at one point my father had a pet skunk in a cage out in the barn. Can't remember to much about him but I can remember my father holding him and he was crawling all over him one time. (I was really young).

I also remember loving to tell my friends that I had a 'pet' skunk lol no one believed me.

I just took in another skunk today. His name is Dozer. He's 3 yrs old.

My skunks run around in the house.
