You can also announce tournaments and such in this county here in this thread. (The main fishing forums recommended for that as well).

In the text: Please tell us whatever you can, including:

- where on the Lake / River
- what depth
- time of day
- bait / lure / presentation / colors
- boat access (and cost)

and anything else about the area like local bait shops, water hazards, alternative species and tackle in case the main stuff isn't happening, local places to stay, guide services, etc.

Oconto County - The Machickanee flowage has been popular with anglers. The best fishing has been for bluegills on teardrop jigs tipped with waxworms. White Potato Lake has produced some nice perch and anglers were reporting catching a few walleyes on tip-ups. Chute Pond has been receiving a lot of fishing pressure and most anglers were drilling a lot of holes to get onto active fish. One angler on Wheeler Lake in northern Oconto County reported catching a 42 inch northern pike while fishing with tip-ups and large shiners. A Hunter Safety course will be offered at Lena Swamp Archery, Oconto Falls, beginning March 24 through the 26. Pre-registration is required and can be done by calling the instructor at (920) 604-1750.

These 143 acres of stained water are known for producing good numbers of Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass. And there are a few Walleyes to be had here, along with “snake” Northern Pike. Fish the weedbeds on the west shore of the lake’s southern basin for bigmouth; the inside turn on the north side of that basin, too, should be worked for Smallmouth. Fish the little side lakelets for Northerns and panskis. Access with parking is on the southwest shore.

At 100 acres, John Lake isn’t exactly big water. However, it has a surprisingly good fishery for such a little lake. Mike Beth, owner of Parkside QuikMart, 14048 Highway 32, Mountain (715) 276-7161, says you’ll find some Muskies of 36 inches or better here, along with big Northern Pike, some decent Largemouth Bass, and the usual crop of Wisconsin panfish. The south-side access is rather poor, and there’s not much parking, but John is probably worth fishing in spite of the obstacles.
