It doesn't exist anymore, but one of my favorite little museums was discovered the first time I walked around the town of Delavan, about 1993. It was in a new age shop that was being rented out by an elderly woman. She was charging $5 (something like that) to go into a back room and look at a miniature of Circuses that used to be in Delavan during the 1800's. It must have been made during those years as well, because it was really old! The whole place was dusty and dark, and the atmosphere was indescribable, but it had a charm to the whole experience that I never forgot. Then I walked down to the actual Circus Museum that has since moved up to Baraboo,
Wi. That was also quite interesting! I really miss having it nearby to bring friends and visitors. When I finally did drive up to Baraboo to the Circus Museum, it was a great and fun day, fascinating in fact. But it didn't hold the thrill I felt when I chanced upon those old places in Delavan. I still love this area for the history it holds.
