Fall Photo Contest

We're pleased to announce theBubbler's first photo contest! The theme of this contest is "Fall Photos." Fall Photos include Halloween, Thanksgiving,

Autumn colors or anything else related to Fall! To enter this contest, upload your Fall photos to the "2007 Fall Photo Contest" category in theBubbler's Photo Gallery. You may submit as many photos as you like, just as long as they're Fall-related and meet all other Gallery criteria.
To be eligible for the contest, all photos must be uploaded to the "2007 Fall Photo Contest" category by Friday, November 23 at midnight.

Important! When you upload your photo, make sure the "Allow members to rate your photo?" and "Allow members to post comments?" are set to YES!
Voting begins on Saturday, November 24 and lasts until Tuesday, November 27 at noon. To vote for photos, use the "Rate this photo" feature under the photo to give it a vote. You can only a photo once. So be sure you make your rating counting. The photo with the best ratings will win. See our FAQ on How do I rate member photos ? for more information.

Whats the prize? Just for my understanding only the photos uploaded to "2007 Fall Photo Contest" will be counted. So ones I've already gave stars to will not factor as their in the wrong catagory.

The prize is yet to be determined. (sorry this was kind of spur of the moment)

If you already have a photo in your member gallery, all you have to do is go in and edit the photo and choose the contest gallery. Your photo will remain in your member gallery but also be put into the photo contest gallery for us to view.

We hadn't thought about those with stars already. hmmmm.
I would suggest uploading it again with a different name.

I only see a couple photos in the photo contest area. Be sure to get your entries in!

AJE asked about prizes and we are working on that. You will hear an announcement about the prizes soon.

Since I think in the suggestion area when we were tossing ideas around for the new bubbler I kept whinining I wanted a photo contest.

So I will put photos in for sure. Just have to get out of the forums long enough to do it! lol

For the last couple of days I have tried to enter a few photos but they won't upload. Can someome tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Not sure, but perhaps your photo is too large?

They are the size that I put in the forums. Photobucket sizes them for different things such as email, or websites etc. I did one a while back but not sure how I did that one but it worked then. I hope I don't miss out on the contest. ;(

I had that same problem with trying to post pics for the photo contest. If it's too big it just wont post. I had to go back in and resize it myself........
once smaller it would post just fine.
I think they might have changed something in photo bucket because lately all I can post is thumbnails.........nothing bigger

OK, I resized to a smaller image and tried again. It went through and said the upload was successful. So when going back to the gallery my picture is not there at all.

Is there another step I am missing?

Are you sure you uploaded it to the Fall Photo Contest area??

Maybe just go do it again and make sure that's the folder you are putting it in. If it says it was successful then it's somewhere..........

well the link comes out looking all funky, but it works cuz I just clicked on it and it took me right to the photo contest area.....

Maybe try using the upload option in the contest area? That is what I used to put it there...not photo bucket.

Yes, I even tried loading in the members section as just a picture.

Thanks Carol for all the tips.

What I finally did was quit trying with photobucket. For some reason photobucket works great for the forums but not for the gallery.

So I took a tip from a post that j10sen posted a while back and downloaded FastStone. .. it worked great. It even give you the option to resize the picture to how you want etc.

So I finally got the pictures on! yeah!!
