We upgraded the photo gallery today to the latest version of the software. There are a couple of new features and a few code optimizations to increase your viewing/uploading/sharing pleasure.
This is good news for the shutter bugs, here at theBubbler.com. I, for one, enjoy sharing photos with the gang here. I think I'll take a hike around, and get some recent shots of the "CowTown" area. Then I'll try out the upgrade.

I tried to load a larger photo yesterday (over 3 meg) and it appeared to upload and then it didn't appear. I thought that strange since I am a site admin and my settings say I have no file size limits.
Just for kicks I reduced the size of the file and it uploaded fine.
You may want to try not only file size but pixel length and width as well.
I will check with Mike to see if he knows of any trickss.

Thanks for letting us know!
I tried a very small photo from home and it worked, so obviously size is an an issue. I put some others ones up there that were reduced somewhat and they uploaded but I discovered that even a 1000 pixels wide is too large. I would suggest limiting to 800 pixels wide for practical viewing.

I saw 8 of yours, I believe, from yesterday and ten of yours, I believe, from earlier this evening (GREAT STUFF, TOO). Good to see that it is working for you.
We'll do our best to make it easy for everyone, and to provide a FAQ sheet.
I want to be sure that you, of all people, know that we can install dozens/scores/hundreds/thousands of photos for you from a zip file.
Let us know if you'd like to do that. You can make a common remark across all of them too, like I did with the second batch from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism.
PM mweinand and me for info. May take a week or two as Mike travels, etc., but we'll get 'er done.
What's probably happening is that your connection is timing out before the photo finishes uploading. That wouldn't be a problem with the site so much as a connection problem. Since the error isn't in the program, it doesn't realize that it needs to kick you back an error and it just doesn't progress to the next steps with the file.
A good practical rule of thumb is that you don't need to upload an image for online viewing higher than about 800px wide by 600px high. That's the screen size for about a quarter of our users. If you've created desktop wallpapers you might have reason to post a larger dimension file for that particular image, but for your average photo, 800x600 is a pretty large file when you're viewing it online. Also, at 800x600 a jpg isn't particularly memory intensive unless you've set it to the least lossy compression rating.
