"Revisited #2"
New, 3/18/2011, Reality, Cooking
Chef Ramsay decides to revisit a couple of the more memorable restaurants he has helped in the past to see if his advice has been put to good use, and he hopes to be pleased with the progress that they have made since being on the show.
Ramsay revisited restaurants from previous shows.. I always like his shows.
It has to suck to see so many of the restaurants (that he worked so hard on) being closed down less than a year later. They always have at least 1 per revisit show that didn't make it.
I wonder how many they film that we don't get to see?
Personally, if I were a restaurant, I would not want this sort of publicity. For many retail outlets it wouldn't matter but showing dirt and filth in a kitchen, etc. would certainly stick in people's minds.
I worked in a restaurant as a kid where a customer ordered mashed potatoes after the steam table had closed and the cook scooped them right out of the garbage can. I quit and never went back.

I seen the same thing while working at a well known fast food restaurant in WI (back in the day), but it was grilled onions scooped out of the garbage. very very gross.
i wouldnt want that publicity either... Gordon calling me a donkey or whatever in front of my customers lol
Ick digging things out of the garbage. I'm sure more goes on than we'd like to know. I only worked in one restaurant years ago and never saw anything gross. Thank goodness everyone I worked with used common sense.
The worst thing that I saw on one of the TV shows with the hidden cameras is a cook that was sick and vomited into a pot of chili. He didn't do it on purpose, but happened to be standing there when he lost his cookies. Instead of tossing the chili, he just mixed it in hoping no one would notice.
I have worked at many restaurants.. have seen much more than I care to.
Thankfully, most chain restaurants try to do a good job of keeping things clean and safe.

That has got to be the most disgusting thing I've heard! well no.. there was the time way way back when I watched one of those shows & seen someone mix seman in the sour cream on purpose because he was mad at his co-workers... *hurl*
Could you imagine Gordons reaction if he seen that?!!?
I enjoy Kitchen Nightmares & look forward to Hells Kitchen... I just love Gordon Ramsey.
