Mom On Leave It To Beaver Dies At Age 94

Barbara Billingsley, who gained supermom status for her gentle portrayal of June Cleaver, the warm, supportive mother of a pair of precocious boys in Leave It to Beaver, died Saturday. She was 94.

Billingsley, who had suffered from a rheumatoid disease, died at her home in Santa Monica, Calif., said family spokeswoman Judy Twersky.

Thanks for the post Dave. I read this and was going to put it on but have been so busy this weekend.

Leave It To Beaver was one of the very favorite shows of most back when it was on. It was just a normal show and reflected how life was back in that time period. Most 'Mom's' wore aprons, and cooked special dinners and wore dresses around the house. Of course not the high heels that Beaver's mom always wore. lol

Actually I remember back in the 60's and 70's my Mom always having a house dress and apron when working in the kitchen and having home made cookies for us after school.

Yes, that was a good time, family values, kids knowing right from wrong, and knew they would be punished if they didn't follow rules. Respect for their parents, teachers, and for adults. Good show.
