I love Pawn Stars and watch it whenever I get the chance. I agree with what was said at the very beginning of this conversation that the guys seem clueless on many items that come through their shop, and that many of the people who sell items there settle for far less than they should. Still, an interesting show nonetheless.

Besides providing entertainment, the show definitely offers the viewer a way to take in some history and really learn a variety of things, something I really appreciate.

My understanding is that the bulk of offers that are made are refused by the sellers.. they usually only succeed in buying 75% of the time.

We were out in Delavan over the weekend and my son saw a pawn shop and wanted to check it out. First time for the kids to actually go in one. The owner was saying that he actually had a pawn license but he did mostly buy and sell instead. Interesting place.

The cast on this show is so unappealing to me that I almost hate to watch it.. not to mention I think 99% of the items offered are staged.
