Adam Shepard ~ Author of Scratch Beginnings
Thursday, November 20, 2008
7pm talk
Shepard graduated from college in 2006 feeling disillusioned by the apathy he saw around him
He was incensed after reading Barbara Ehrenreich's Nickel and Dimed and Bait and Switch, which gave him a feeling of hopelessness over the state of the working class in America
He set out to see if he could make something out of nothing and prove her wrong
He started with $25 and the clothes on his back in a city he chose out of a hat.
But from the start things didn't go as he had planned.

The All-American Sport of Bi-Partisan Bashing: Common Sense Rantings from a Ragi
Wednesday, November 26, 2008
7pm talk
Will Durst, author
With the sacred cows of American politics practically begging for someone to puncture their pomposity, Durst hits them where it counts
This equal opportunity offender swats political piņatas from both sides of the spectrum upside their heads
From the utter incompetence of the Bushies and Dick Cheney's destruction of the Constitution to the spineless antiwar posturing of the Congress and Hilary Clinton's ability to play with the truth, everyone takes their licks
