Lest We Forget...
Although the United States has a relatively short history, it has been involved in many police conflicts, major world wars, numerous Indian wars, civil and international disputes, NATO and humanitarian actions. The brave men and women of Wisconsin have faithfully been inspired or required to defend our freedoms and beliefs.
More Wisconsinites served in World War II than in any other conflict, with Vietnam ranking second, but fatalities were heaviest in the Civil War. From the Civil War through Operation Desert Strom, more than 26,600 Wisconsinites have lost their lives in military service. (Wisconsin Blue Book, 2002, pg 767)
Many of us have heard stories of our heroic ancestors, how they fought the battle and survived. How they fought the battle and perhaps may not survived.
This forum was created to help us remember and perhaps find out more information about those that fought the battle for our freedoms, our liberties, our beliefs.
