It's official, I am now a card carrying Senior - Medicare card, that is. Somehow I can't even imagine being 65 and yet I am...

I was about to start a thread - because I think it deserves a thread of it's own - about pet loss in the pet section but I know that this morning I cannot do it justice because of time constrains. So frustrating.... I may have to wait for a "Chatty Kathy" moment.

Why is it that I really have to be in the mood to write? I must be sort of "in the mood" or I would not be playing here in the journal, but just can't do a thread justice right now.

Oh well, time to move this morning on, triage in the kitchen, wash my hair, pick out the cat litter box (yes, old, old Woodbox Kitty was allowed to move into the house at the beginning of past cold snap - she's still here in the house) go to the Kinnickinnic-River Falls Cooperative Boundary meeting at noon, grocery shop for stuff I did not think of yesterday, and then start supper; the fun never ends.

To top it off there is a NA$CAR truck race on tonight,
tonight meaning when it is dark here, when I should be winding down for a good nights sleep. That race won't end until about 11pm; it will take another hour to "unwind" so that saucer eyes really want to close and tomorrow morning I will wake up with a "hangover" just from getting to bed so late.

Enough bitching for now... maybe more later

;) <----- that's supposed to be a 'smiley' y'all.

P.S. the time stamp on the forum is all screwed up.
it is not 3:19 pm at this moment....

It is actually, according to my 'puter : 9:21am...gotta run...

23Feb07 4:03pmCST Upon Further Reflection

I am grateful to have a warm kitchen, in a warm house, with running hot water.
I am grateful to have enough money to by food from an agricultural and distribution system that is the most reliable in the world.
I am grateful to be able to watch a meaningless sport event because I have
24/7/365 electrical power and all the appliances I could ever need or want.
I am blessed to live in a capitalist nation in relative safety.
My life is actually wonderful, and I do appreciate it.

Never thought I would live to see the day, litterally 'cause I'll be 65 in April, when DSL would be available out here. It has been a month now since going from 28Kps to DSL and my wonderment and delight keep growing. Bud (hubby) likes it too because I actually spend less time playing online than before. The only 'down side' is that now the telephone can ring. It's usually for Bud: "your cattle are out, do you saw other people's logs, do you have such and such lumber, I need you to custom chop corn, I want you to custom dry my combined corn" - this last is a barely breakeven venture and a lot of very hard work for an old guy, Bud is 77 now, long hours 6am to 11pm - he said NO this Fall - good boy....

The motorhome sold the end of Dec.'05. We felt lost but have survived and really only went on three short trips when we would have used it. Once to Marshfield to see the OakRidge Boys concert at the Central Wis. St. Fair, and twice to beautiful downtown Sandstone, MN, to the Midwest Country Theater to see Janie Frickie and Ray Price. The Ray Price show was litterally awesome.

Now for the bad news. Our very loved companion, Auggie doggie, 11yr. black Lab female, got sick this past Summer. I won't bore you with details. She had exploratory abdominal surgery Oct 4th where they took a tennis ball sized tumor from her left liver lobe, removed her spleen, and observed an enlarged left adrenal gland. The tumor diagnosis is hepatocellular carcinoma and the margins were not differentiated - there cancer sprinkled throughout her liver.
Auggie recoved spectacularly from this major surgery and at the present time, 12/21/06, with diet and herbal adjustments, appears to be 'holding her own' and enjoying a very good quality of life. But it is sad and a bit nerve wracking to be watching every day for the steady decline or 'big crash' that one knows is eventually comming.

But so far all is good. We are waking up on 'this side of the dirt' every morning, both of us are in very good health for our ages and enjoying our work and leisure.

To all who might read this I wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Judy

here we go again """(Did you check it for typos?)"""

I have somehow morphed into a "Chatty Kathy" this morning; wonder what's up with that. Two replys on this Bubbler forum and a couple of others on another forum I belong too. It does seem my replying is sporatic, like I have really got to be "in the mood".

Motorhome still has not sold, just sitting in the shed, not being used - that's not good for it.

"(Did you check it for typos?)" Yeah, but what I really need, here and in the fourm on Bubbler is a
SPELL CHECK feature, please, please, please....

We have decided to sell our motorhome, and it seems strange to imagine being without it; knowing it is in the machine shed and we could go any time we want to. But, we have never gone South during the Winter. What would we do there? Neither one of us golfs or fishes and he cannot sit still for half a day under the awning visiting with neighbors, it's always go, go, go. So I am now reconsiled to always being here all the time and us taking care of the young stock and him logging and sawing.
This is our second motorhome. Both were used mainly for going to NASCAR races and extended spring/fall vacations in connection with the races. Not to mention the changes in NASCAR since 2001, and the fact that we are have gradually given up our various race ticket renewalls. We had a really good 17 year run, went a lot of places and made a lot of memories. And now we are entering the 'homebody' phase of life, which sure beats the next 'alternative'.
So today I put an add in the classifieds here for our wonderful motorhome, and will have to explore other avenues of marketing it.
Well, I had better close for now, before I make myself cry....

*scroll* "" (Did you check it for typos?) ""

!WHAT! Are 'you' trying to tell me we have no 'spell check' here??? hehehe

Five Little Pumpkin Sitting On A Gate

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate,
The first one said,
"Oh my, it's getting late."
The second one said,
"But we don't care."
The third one said,
"I see witches in the air."
The fourth one said,
"Let's run, and run, and run."
The fifth one said,
"Get ready for some fun."
Then whoosh went the wind,
and out went the lights,
And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!

Happy Halloween!

Sending you a warm hug and cup of coco. The cold is here! This weekend I'm catching the Saw Whet Owls for the DNR and then of course Apple pies are around the corner since my family is picking Sunday. I prey the forecast will be wrong for rain on Sunday. Take care Judy.

Nooo kidddiiing..... I am just flummoxed at all the new features and choices within the features. The Bubbler site is absolutely gorgeous and works so very smoothly - what a great improvement. Now I just have to learn how to use it, heh heh heh.

Actually this is just an experiment to see if this reply really get to your 'account'.......

Autumn Serenity

The touch of color scattered into the trees coupled with the early morning chill signal the end of another season.

As I look high up into the sky the birds are making their way southward early this year and I wonder at the reason.

The moth is full and wooly which they say will show that the winter will be harsh and the snow will swirl around us too soon it may seem.

But for now I enjoy the cool breath of the wind upon my cheek that brushes my hair softly across my eyes as I enjoy the remaining green.

Soon enough the brilliant colors of autumn will fill the land as the leaves give us their annual beauty pageant competing with the falling sun.

The sunlight as it slowly slides below the horizon seems to catch the leaves full of fire as though they together are one.

My friends in the far north tell me of the beauty of the Aurora as it dances through the sky in a symphony of light each night.

I have not seen that symphony but I have seen the one that surrounds us with brilliant light as the leaves dance on the wind and it is a beautiful sight.

The falling leaves fill the ground with their colors which quickly fade so they must be enjoyed at the moment as you see them fall from the tree.

Catching them at the moment where they fall in the wind and fill the air with beauty takes my breath away and my heart feels so free.

Each season has its own special beauty but Autumn has always captured my heart in its own special way because it seems to fulfill the destiny of the land.

The brilliant colors are singing their symphony to show us that they have beauty as they fall before they turn dull and gray and fade away as only they can.

Love Always, AJE enjoy your last day of summer for 2007.
