Oops, sorry I forgot to put the name of the forum. It's in the break room.
I agree with you. I do buy new toys and clothes for my young children and grandchildren. Grown-ups usually get something handmade, including the gift wrapping. I try to be very thoughtful in my choices. I have a family member who always gets teased, because he likes doilies. When I got his name one year, I used handmade doilies for the wrapping, the bow was a branch of pine and the gift tag was made of birch tree bark. He loved it! Another year I canned homemade hot sauce with peppers from my garden. I created and printed labels and top covers for a family member who loves hot and spicy food.
Some people only want something that is new, in a box, covered in plastic and wrapped in paper, ribbons and bows that will soon be crumpled and tossed in the trash. I think those are the people we see standing in the long return lines, the day after Christmas.

And now you've been "Turkeyed" too!
Hope your holidays are great!
I'm trying to get some feed back about handmade gifts for the holidays. I posted in the forums titled "Homemade Gifts a thing of the past?".
Please share your thoughts on this, if you get a chance.
Thanks!

Hey, I just noticed in other areas of the bubbler that you are a clean water technician? I have a big problem with our water in Ashippun, Wisconsin (home of a previous "Superfund Site". Our well tested unsafe due to coliform bacteria. They said boil for dishwashing and drinking. I do boil for dishwater but purchase bottled water for drinking. My question, if you know, is if it's not safe for dishwashing, how can it be safe for bathing? We rent and the landlord is not very intelligent when it comes to our well. We are looking for another place, but what can we do in the meantime? ANY information would be greatly appreciated!!!!
