Hi I also am at home all the time. Mine is due to a disablity but it has been so long that it is what I am used to. I have 5 kids with 3 still at home. i did home shcooling for awhile but then it got to be to hard on me.

We live in a small school area so the kids go to a very small school which is nice. My other passion is animals. I love working with them. I train my own service dog to help me. Right now I am hoping the Great Dane pup I have will work. My shepherd mix passed away froma heart condition.

I also take in animals that others could not care for or ended up with something that they didn't expect. I have rescued birds I adopted and a pair of sugar gliders. they keep me busy and help keep me going.

Hi! Yes, we homeschool our children. Our oldest is in 4th grade, he is 9 years old. We have been homeschooling since he was little. The state of WI is great for homeschooling families. You don't need a degree or anything like in some states. You can use whatever curriculum you would like. We are doing it a little "unconventional", but there are many ways to do it. You just have to find one that works for your family and one which works for your child. I enjoy the time with the children and I love being the one who helps them discover all the new things. I get to share in the joy of them learning a new concept. It's like the firsts don't end after their first step and first word.



Quick question! Do I know you from WI parents on msn? Your name sounds familiar; I am timeout4mommy on there.



If you get a chance, check out the website for our homeschool group. I have a few links on there about homeschooling. I hope to get more soon. There is a lot more work that needs to be done on there.



My best advice for homeschooling families is to get involved with a local homeschooling group. They can provide lots of support and help answer your questions and concerns. They usually will schedule field trips (ours has one every month) and there are monthly meetings. We belong to two homeschool groups here and we love it! Double the meetings and extra field trips. Lots of support and more contact with other families.
