Collectively, Facebook's users spend -- wait for it -- 700 billion minutes per month on the site, according to company stats. Assuming the site has 500 million active users (they've hit 600 million but haven't updated the time-use stats on their site, so we're working with what we got -- thanks, Zuckerberg), that works out to 23 hours and 20 minutes per person a month -- on average.
That's actually a quote from an article on how to beat your addiction to Facebook but you can plainly see from that statistic why your business needs to be represented on Facebook.. 700 BILLION minutes a month of potential exposure!
Facebook has been good for Body Essentials. I get a lot of interaction especially with videos. Everyone likes to see our new purses each week. You'll find the link to our business page in the signature. Check it out! And don't forget to click "like"!

Dave,
I agree - but what makes it more complicated for many business folks is the outbreak of new social media tools and new apps within FaceBook.
No question of the strengths of Facebook lie in pure numbers and access to demographics. We have our page: www facebook.com/TheFrameWorkshop
Building People who LIKE (previously known as FANS) is a key, so that any effort of marketing reaches critical mass.
Does anyone have success with conducting "Polls" on facebook? Any suggestions on how to do it? Thanks
By definition, a Poll should be a good idea as it can engage interactive responses, which is the key to using Facebook professionally and successfully.

I would suspect it depends on how targeted your audience is..
You'd probably have more luck with a contest of some sort.
Contest - from what I have read have to be constructed very carefully. The wrong verbiage might get you in trouble with the FB Police.
Look for related pages on Facebook and join.. get to know as many people as you can who might be targeted. Use Twitter to tweet your message as well.. Facebook and Twitter go well togther..
I use a Facebook bookmarklet to add add links and related news to my pages..
