This is a great video on the state of social media and why we need to be using it in our business! There are several other 'socialnomics' videos on YouTube as well - just do a search for that term to bring them up. I present social media workshops at the FVTC and we like to use some of the socialnomics videos on occasion.
Erik Qualman is the author of the book 'Socialnomics', which I have not read, but also the author of the new book 'Digital Leader: 5 Simple Keys to Success and Influence' - which I am currently reading. It's not so much about social media strategy as it is about learning how to become an effective leader in the digital world.
