Rules for participation
The primary purpose of this forum is to assist researchers in finding their long lost ancestors and possible family connections with other folks researching the same name(s).

Message board use is subject to the theBubbler.com terms and conditions.
We reserve the right to remove improperly posted messages; move messages to their proper location; edit the surname field, message subject, and message classification, without notice for the purpose of preserving board integrity, and to ensure proper indexing and searchability.

PRIVACY:
In order to protect personal privacy we ask that posts of living people be kept to a minimum. You can post inquiries about long lost relatives, lost high school buddies, old acquaintances, etc., we ask however that any responses be done through private messaging. Any posts that contain addresses or information of living individuals or possibly living persons will be subject to removal or editing by the board moderator. Again, feel free to use private messages for these types of responses.

DOs and DON'Ts

DO NOT:
Do not post message that include copyright infringement or offensive or malicious material.

DO NOT:
Do not post a message that is commercial in nature, offers a fee for service, or contains an advertising message. theBubbler offers free Add-a-Link, Paid Advertising, and free classifieds for that purpose.

Do not post a message or surname that does not have a Wisconsin connection.

The Subject line should contain only one surname (last name) in all caps.

Do not put more than one different surname in a subject line.

DO:
Do put alternate spellings of your surnames whenever appropriate into the subject line:

DO NOT:
Post a message that is inappropriate for the scope of the Topic
Incorrect Example: A posting to the CHALOUPKA surname topic, which makes no mention of any CHALOUPKA connection.

DO:
You may include other surnames within the body of the post, such as a wife's maiden name.
If you are researching her also, please put her name as a separate topic.
Correct Example:
HERLIK
Peter RADEY married Anna HERLIK. Anna was previously married to Wenzel WANISH. They lived in Manitowoc County.
Their known children are:.....

could also have the entry in RADEY:
RADEY, RADY, RADDE, READY:

DO:
Do try to put the surnames in all caps within the body of your posts. This helps people identify connections.
Correct Example: Martha BLUM married Emmath JONAS. Martha's sister Marie BLUM married Emmath's brother Fred JONAS.

DO:
Be specific as to the area of immigration/migration of your family within the body of the post if possible. Doing this helps narrow down the possible connections.
Correct example: August JONAS came from Germany to Two Creeks, Wisconsin in the mid 1800s. The family lived there all of their life. One son Walter moved to Wausau about 18....

DO NOT:
Do not post general "seeking information" (query) type message. Use the Wisconsin Personals if you are looking for a date.
Incorrect Example: Seeking 35-40 years old female, auburn hair, green eyes......

I am interested in information on the Rosenthal family (early 1900's) Peter and Minnie around Platteville. They would have been my great grandparents. They had several children with one of them being Lillie Lucille (my grandmother). My cousin and I know nothing about that side of our family and would like to get some basic information. I do know that some of the siblings moved to Dubuque. Thanks for any information.
