I am looking for any information on the Robley family from Valders. I have a relative in Norway who is trying to complete a family genealogy and we have traced some of his relatives to Valders. Here is the family and some information:
1. George J Robley is the son of <No name> and <No name>. He was born 1846 in Norway. Arrival 1887 . Residence 1910 in Liberty, Manitowoc, Wisconsin .
Berit Skattebo is the daughter of Ivar Olsen Skattebo and Ambjorg Eriksdoter Kleiven[2]. She was born 1854 in Norway. Arrival 1887. Residence 1910 in Liberty, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
George J Robley and Berit Skattebo. They were married 1875 in Norway. They had 9 children.
i. Sarah Robley. She was born 1879 in Norway. Arrival 1887. Occupation on 01 Jun 1905 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Servant). Residence 1930 in Valders, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
ii. Les Robley. He was born 1881 in Norway. Arrival 1887. Residence 1900 in Liberty, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
iii. Emma Robley. She was born 1884 in Norway. Arrival 1887. Residence 1900 in Liberty, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
iv. George Robley. He was born 1886 in Norway. Arrival 1887. Residence 1900 in Liberty, Manitowoc, Wisconsin .
v. Julia B Robley. She was born 1888 in Wisconsin. Residence 1900 in Liberty, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Occupation 1910 in Milwaukee Ward 7, Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Servant).

1910 US Census indicates she is a servant in the home Rejean Brown in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
vi. Oscar Robley. He was born 1890 in Wisconsin. Residence 1900 in Liberty, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
vii. Mabel Robley. She was born 1893 in Wisconsin. Residence 1910 in Liberty, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
viii. Rosetta Robley. She was born 1895 in Wisconsin. Residence 1910 in Liberty, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
ix. Lillian Robley. She was born on 16 Nov 1896 in Manitowoc, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, USA. Residence 1910 in Liberty, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
I live in Manitowoc County....grew up in Newton...
I went to school with a Robley, that lived in Newton....

I have Ambjørg (Ambjor) Robley on my family records. Because of you inquiry I now know where she came from and was able to find her birth and christening in the Norwegian church records.
She married John Fred Olsen (Johan Fredrick Olsen) on 9 Dec 1911 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI. He was a Great Lakes ship captain. He was born in Tjølling, Vestfold, Norway in 1880. I believe he died around 1949 but do not have an exact date or place (I know it was not in Wisconsin). I have not been able to find a death date or place for Ambjor. They did have a daughter, Ruby, possible born around July 1916 in Milwaukee.
Mabel Emily Robley was born 22 Aug 1892 in Valders, Manitowoc, WI and married Carl M. Christiansen b. 6 July 1892 at Kaupang Søndre in Tjølling, Vestfold, Norway. They were to be married 5 Dec 1920 (probably in Milwaukee) and recieved passports to go to Norway on their honeymoon. Mabel and Carl had 2 children according to the 1930 census, Violet and George.
Any information on this family might be helpful to me in finding dates for John and Ambjor and for determining what happened to Ruby.
