REININGER
I am researching the Reininger Family Ancestry. FRANK G. REININGER had two brothers, EDWARD and FRED and a sister ELSIE (married name: Steinmueller). These children were born in Milwaukee or surrounding area. It is believed the parents of these children died. The boys, Frank, Ed and Fred went to an unknown orphanage in Milwaukee or were raised by relatives in various locations in Wisconsin.
It is believed the father of these children was named EDWARD REININGER. We have been unable to find any information at all about their mother, not even her name. From research I have been doing, it is possible that Edward may not have died, but ended up in a position in which he had to surrender his parental rights. Where did the mother of these children go? Why can't I find a trace of her existence? I don't believe the parents just died. I am looking for more information to substantiate either way what happened.
Frank G. Reininger (born: 10/11/1887) became a successful barber and businessman in Sun Prairie. It it from his family we learn that the parents died in about 1889 and the children were place in an orphanage in Milwaukee.
Elsie married Emil Steinmueller. She had a nephew possibly of Madison named Allen Reininger that was referred to in some family history notes.
Fred may have changed his surname to REIMER. His wife's name was Anna. They had a daughter whose married name was Buerki. He died in Madison after residing there for about 50 years. His address was listed as 314 Maple Ave. in Madison. He may have owned or operated a furniture business in the Madison area. Other than that we have little or no information on him.
If you are able to connect to any of this family, please contact me. Thanks so much for your time and interest in my posting. I wish you success in your ancestry search!
