LAUSCHER, LASCHER, LASCHER, LOUSCHER, LOSCHER
I am researching my father's grandfather's family in WI. (Mathew) Peter LAUSCHER m Maria Agnes Classen (or Glasser?) in Germany. They had 2 sons there: (John) Hubert and Willam C. Based on the birthdates/places of their children, Peter and Agnes came to America between June 1846 and March 1849. They settled in the Milwaukee area (Oak Creek?).
While in the Milwaukee area the following children were born: (Jacob) Robert, Gertrude, Marie E., Frank, and Aloysius (my g-g-grandfather known also as Alois, Alvis and other variations!).
In 1856 or 1857, the family moved to Kewaunee where Joseph, Caroline and Katharine were born.
I am documenting the descendants of Peter and Agnes. So far, my data base has 2853 names! Not all of these are LAUSCHER descendants since I include the parents/siblings of those who marry into the family, too. There are more than one instance where brothers and sisters have married into the same families. Maybe there weren't too many people to choose from in their area/time.
The children settled primarily in Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, and Sheboygan counties. Many, many of their descendents are still in those general areas.
If you have any information or tie into these families, I would love to exchange information with you.[/i]
