You can also announce tournaments and such in this county here in this thread. (The main fishing forums recommended for that as well).

Subject Line: Lake or river name and what kind of fish are hitting

In the text: Please tell us whatever you can, including:

- where on the Lake / River
- what depth
- time of day
- bait / lure / presentation / colors
- boat access (and cost)

and anything else about the area like local bait shops, water hazards, alternative species and tackle in case the main stuff isn't happening, local places to stay, guide services, etc.

In East Alaska you’ll find a few big, old Muskies left over from stocking in the ‘80s, along with a nice fishery for Bass, Crappies and Perch. The lake’s east and west shores have good dropoffs, which should be fished at the 15-foot level for Perch, Crappies and the occasional Muskie venturing to that depth. The weedy hump at mid-lake, too, offers interesting possibilities. Motors ARE allowed on this lake.

Trout stocking in West Alaska was discontinued in 1974 to promote growth of warmwater species. As a result, there is a decent fishery for Largemouth, Crappies and Perch. The Bass run around 4 pounds. A 10-inch Crappie is an exception, but the Perch are pan-size. Panek suggests fishing the shore weeds for the bigmouth. The wood around the island is panfish country, but don’t use a gas motor to get to it, for they’re verboten on this lake.
