Kewaunee XC Adventure
With last year’s uncooperative weather leaving us with few course options and some very muddy racers, we cross our fingers and hope for better conditions for the 2005 WORS Kewaunee Cross Country Adventure. The Kewaunee Cross Country Adventure presents racers with numerous aspects of mountain bike racing including an asphalt leadout and downhill radar run to the finish, plenty of passing opportunities on hardpacked ATV trails, with progressively longer courses and more challenging singletrack for the Citizen Youth, Citizen, Sport and Comp and Elite classes. The Kewaunee Cross Country Adventure is also known to be one of the more spectator friendly venues, with numerous vantage points, like the crowd favorite “natural halfpipe”, viewers can catch all the action. Bus shuttles will again be on hand to assist spectators getting from the start and finish at Bruemmer Park to Riverview Park where the more intense racing action is.
KRANKS, the Kewaunee Chapter of WORBA, would like to thank WORS for the opportunity to host and their continued support of staging this event. Previous years’ proceeds from the WORS Kewaunee Cross Country Adventure have led to the creation of 10 miles of some of Wisconsin’s most demanding singletrack.
For up to date trail conditions or more race details, contact Jonathan Viste at (920)-743-2773 or
Jonathan743@yahoo.com. Outside of WORS race weekend, the combined 10 miles of singletrack at Riverview Park, Winter Park, and the D.N.R. Besadny Land are open to mountain biking, hiking and snow shoeing, free of charge. The trail maintenance volunteers of KRANKS, the Kewaunee Chapter of WORBA, welcome you to come back, explore and enjoy!
