One place that comes to mind that is certainly a well known landmark in our city of Kenosha would be Frank's Diner:
"The oldest continuously operating lunch car diner in the US, Franks Diner is a local favorite. In 1926, six horses pulled the diner to the spot where it stands today. Many celebrities, including Bela Lugosi, Duke Ellington, Liberace and the Lawrence Welk orchestra, have visited Franks."
You forgot Larry from the Three Stooge's. He used to go there as a regular. Okay, he's not Curly, but still a stooge!
My favorite landmark in Kenosha is one PK, her daughter and I checked out at one time. It's the old Kenosha National Bank, the tall building downtown. It's ruined on the inside and only had one business in all of the 9 floors. Main water pipe froze and broke and caused millions in damage.
But, the views of the lakefront are incredible from there. I almost rented the old FBI headquarters on the 7th floor for 500 a month, complete with iron door and peephole...
I'm sure with all the development downtown, it will be rehabbed if not already and rent will be high.

My husband and I have started a blog which will feature many restaurants in Kenosha, most of which are really bad. We eat out 4-5 times a week, so, we really know what we're talking about.

My wife and I tried Franks Diner this morning. We were there when they opened at 7 AM. I am glad. The place filled up in the first 15 minutes. We had a great breakfast and will be going back sometime for lunch. I would put this on my list of places to dine at.
Thanks Food Warriors for the info.
Re: Kenosha County's best people, places and things are:
For years my husband and I have gone out to eat on Saturday nights. We love to visit places all over and have been to many places by now. Many stay in our minds as places that I love to go back to. Many we simply forget about. We also love breakfast out once in awhile on the weekends. One place that we have been to a few times has been Franks Diner. I really enjoyed the food and the whole place. I say we only have been there a few times since it is difficult to get a seat there if you are looking to eat more like 9:00 or so. The place is packed and I for one hate being shoved in a corner by the door waiting for a seat to open.
Another interesting place to eat is Bob's on Sheridan. I can't say very much about the decor of the place but if you like something different to eat try Bob's and get a wild game omelet. The one I like the best so far is wild boar. It takes alot like ham to me. Bear is good also but a little dry. They have a variety but it changes according to what they have at the time.

How about the fishing! the fishing is good here in Kenosha. big fish in big lake.
I got the call this morning that things are really heating up on the pike river.
and as soon as the fox river gets back into the banks the white bass should be running. Its all good on the inland lakes too.
I love the smell of fish runs in the spring.
