Moving to Jackson County!
Hi Group!
Just found this forum ! My husband is being relocated to this area for work, and I'm very excited for the change. New beginnings and new adventures! We're not sure yet the exact area we will be living in, we are still in the process of looking at homes, though we think we may have it narrowed down to two. This area is beautiful, and coming from flat farm country, I am so looking forward to living amongst all the beautiful schenery!
We have miniature horses, and enjoy driving them as a hobby. Can anyone tell me if there are any public horse trails in the surrounding area?
I also own and manage a sewing business out of our home. We used to raise alpacas, and started sewing cria coats for the babies to wear in cold weather. It blossomed into a nice little 3 season business that keeps us very busy! Thankfully, my business is mobil, and can easily be moved and run from just about anywhere!
I look forward to hearing more about the Jackson County (and surrounding) area from those of you who live there.

Welcome~
Great to see you posting here.
My Dad, and my sister and her daughter live in Black River Falls and I get up there as often as I can.
Hope you enjoy the area! Hope we can do a Black River Canoe Trip with theBubbler Members and Mods, too!
Regards,
Keith

Re: Moving to Jackson County!
Hi there, Well I used to live in JC. Black River Falls, Merrillan, Alma Center, and Taylor just to name a few. But my hometown in BRF. I lived there for 20 years. My folks, brother and numerous cousins and such still live there so we try to get back as often as possible. I lived in JC until 1997, then moved to Winneconne. Perferrably, I like it here more as there is so much more to do, but, the scenery in JC is beautiful. If you like hunting at all, JC is the place to be.
I know out by Prey somewhere there is a place for riding horses - trails and such. But JC if full of trails.
I never did the canoe trip, but I heard from my of my friends that live back there that that is really fun!!
Wazee park is so nice, that and Hatfield are places I miss the most. You can fish below the dam in Hatfield for Muskies and Walleyes. Then go out along the river on River rd outside of Hatfield and find little places along the road where you can fish for BlueGill. Also visit the Mouth of Halls Creek, fishing and canoeing (i think) starts there also. Perry Creek park is another nice place to visit as it has walking trails that go back into the woods where there is a little stream, nice and cool on hot days!! And you can fish there as it is along the Black River.
BRF has a very nice library. New not to long ago. And Lunda Construction built a nice new addition to the school for exercising, walking, swimming, etc...and theres a new park just behind the school where they do things in the summer. Downtown BRF has a nice trail to walk on also.
Fishing below the dam in BRF is good for Muskies also. Some nice big ones have come out of there.
Well, I gave you kind of a short story, but if theres anything else I can help you with, just email!!
Hope everything goes well for you over there and with all your new adventures!
Sue
