Not sure if it is similar to the one you went to but Kenosha has a really great Rendezvous each year that the kids and I have a lot of fun going to. In fact several years ago my youngest daughter met and sat with a nice lady that was knitting and taught my daughter how to knit also. Great time.

Simmons Island Park, 50th Street and 4th Avenue
Step back in time when Native Americans and fur traders gathered to exchange goods and services and to celebrate. More than 200 reenactors will be encamped on Simmons Island. Talk with them about what life was like during the fur-trading era. See craft and trades demonstrations throughout the camp. Hands-on activities and games. Kids can learn about trading at the Kids Trading Post. Horse drawn wagon provides a shuttle from the parking area. Free.
