deer baiting

I was wondering about people's opinion on the topic of deer baiting. I personally do not bait, but know many people who do. I have always had luck not baiting and hunt in farm country so it is not as necessary. Although the one year the dnr banned hunting across the state I saw a lot of deer. Also, my dad owns land in Manitowoc county and ever since they eliminated baiting there we have seen a great increase in the amount of deer on the property and during daylight ours. It seems the deer have to move more. I have also talked to many co-workers and friends that bait and they say the deer comming to their baits is later and later all the time. They also say sometimes that they wish baiting was abolished because they wouldn't have to bait to keep deer on their property and hope that the deer would move more than just the last 5 minutes before dark.
Just wondering peoples opinions. Thanks

baiting

i have used minerals for baiting in the past and i really don't have a solid opinion on it one way or the other. my trail cam tells me about 99% of the deer come in in total darkness, so it dosen't help the hunt aspect unless you plan on poaching. i think the food plots do take alot of deer in some areas but around here at least it seems like if you have plenty of corn in and around your area you're gonna see deer. knowing your area helps alot there are alot of people complaining the bait gets all the deer off of there property and into the bait pileson the neighbors, but if the deer are using your land more than likley all you have to do is move a little bit from your regular stand to intercept them on their way to the neighbors. after all they don't always move down the exact same trails every single day.
