I'm Keith and I'm not a horse person, though I certainly wouldn't mind being one. I look forward to meeting you all.
Hi There Keith.,
I'm a horse lover myself, and I'm posting this because you said that you can post anything you'd like about the animal(s) that are of interest to us. Well I have 4 miniature ponies which I'm raising to use Hopefully as pulling ponies for a cart that I can use for giving my grandsons rides in oneday. I'd love to hear from people who have trained ponies for carting and how they themselves did this. It seem to be sorta alot of work, but I'm willing to hear anything from anyone who likes doing this for some pointers. I also have a riding horse and favorite breeds are Quarterhorse & Paints. their more mellow and eager to please than some I've dealt with . I enjoy riding alone or in groups on trail rides when ever there are any in the area. it's a very relaxing thing going riding alone and just feeling free and able to sit out in the beautiful woods and have awesome talks with God & your horse. when out riding - a person sometimes wonders how it really was in the olden days when all they had were horses & covered wagons. I would have loved to been able to be in those times, seeing it was more low keyed and not as much worrying about things as it is today. That's why I couldn't stand being without a horse, because riding is my time out & away in peace & quite HaHa. I'd love to hear from anyone who enjoys the same thing and also who enjoys breaking ponies & horses for carting. WEll Keith! if you have afew arces, you should get yourself a very nice riding horse and see what your missing. You'd love it I'm sure. Have a great day.
God Bless
Shirley
Glad to see a thread on such an entertaining hobby! We have 4 horses. 1 QH stud, 1 QH gelding, 1 paintaloosa gelding and buckskin mare. We enjoy them very much. Hubby is the real enthusiast and goes on trail rides around WI and IA.
He dabbles in breaking horses on the side for fun and is interested in learning ferring. However you spell that!
Would enjoy chatting with other couples that are interested in trail riding!

Hey there,, Appaloosa lover here, love all horses, but appy's, paints and fresians are our favs. We have 2 appy mare's a 2 and a 3 yr old. We also have 2 shetland ponies that are rescues that we are rehabing this spring. Girl was selling them ,,, I bought them out of pity for the horses, she had them up for sale for a long time and no one would buy them because of thier feet condition and being very overweight. Vet and farrier have been working with them this month and they are doing alot better. We hope to find them good homes this summer. Little paint stallion is a sweetheart, is broke to ride and is great with our kids. Little chestnut mare is quite timid and leary , but is coming around nicely, she was just kept as a broodmare and not worked with at all.
Hi everyone. This is great, thanks Keith. I have a QH, who is trained for western. She is such a big baby, the grandkids can crawl under her and and she just stands there. My knees have been bothering me so have to stand on the picnic table to get on her.LOL So I thought why not train her to drive. Ok, I know nothing about how to go about it. Good thing Shady has patience. I have been surfing and reading everthing I can and bought a harness. We're going to go ahead a little at a time and see how it goes. Shirley, if you learn anything important let me know. We can do this together. Great to see others on here who love horses. Pam

I'm Jennifer. New to the Bubbler site. I have 8 horses and live in the Weyauwega area. I show my Palomino Stallion and Chestnut Mare in Wisconsin Foundation Quarter Horse shows. These are fun relaxed shows !
I have a website www.dragonflyridgefarm.com that I have been working on to promote my stallion. He is awesome, I am so grateful for him. He is getting me back into and more involved with my horses. I showed from age 4 to 17 and couldn't afford horses for 10 years. Now I have too many ! LOL. I hope to get some ads posted for my horses on the bubbler soon. Nice to meet you all. Hope we can be helpful to each other, and do soem networking.

Hi I am Kit and I have two horses. I have a 10 year old mare Kya that is half walker and half arabian, no papers. I bought her when my kids all left home and was new to the area of West Bend and did not know what to do in my spare time. So I bought her at 4 totally untrained and now at 10 she works with kids that either need outlets or any type of special need. She has had friends from two years old to eighty. We give time and oppertunity to a couple kids a year. Only requirments is a take her for a walk and graze after and a bag of hot dog buns!! Her favorite treat.
And then I have Tiggeritic-Tigger for short. He is my first purebred Arabian. He will be two in June and was just gelded. Also a super sweet guy as even before gelded my 6 year old grandaughter could catch him easier than me or Bill. He is a red bay.
Hi, I'm from Manawa (Jennifer, we're almost neighbors!). I've been around horses all my life. My parents used to compete at speed shows and jackpot roping. I met my hubby on a trail ride. My hubby, older daugher (10 yrs old) and I like to compete in barrel racing and other speed events. Hubby tried his hand at roping but doesn't have the time to keep practiced up. My son is afraid of riding but is a wonderful hand and he's trying out showing at halter in 4H. My younger daughter (3yrs) likes to ride my sons pony - well, she likes to ride anything that moves - 4 wheeler, lawn mower, tractor, pony, bulldog. . .
We currently have 8 horses - one AQHA stallion, one AQHA gelding, four AQHA mares, one AQHA colt and Tony The Pony.
I haven't been able to compete much the last few years because of pregnancy, birth and then raising our third child. We recently found out that she has autism. I'm hoping that I can get back into competition soon.
Howdy fellow horse lovers!
My name is Heidi. My husband Troy and I live in LaValle, WI. Sauk County. We raise APHA and AQHA horses. We use to train for outside horses but that got us too far behind on our own horses so had to quit. We have 2 boys ages 14 and 11. At this time we have 16 horses and are looking to thin down the herd a bit lol I put together a website to advertise and am getting good response. We don't get out and trail ride as much as we use to since we're so busy. Spring is my favorite time of year with the new babies. I hope to find more time to come into the forums and see what's happening in our neck of the woods!

Hi Heidi
How are all the horses doing today? What is your website?

I used to love to attend the rodeo held in Manawa every year. It's been quite a long time since I"ve been up that way.
LOL your 3 yr old sounds cute! Rides anything that moves! LOL
I'm glad I found this site. I'm a newbie from the Upper Peninsula. However, I was born in Wisconsin. I placed an ad under wanted horses but I'm sure people think I'm nuts. Anyway, the ad I posted is below. Sorry if I wasn't suppose to put my ad with my indtroduction. Also I'll work on my profile so it's not so..........blank.

I know this sounds very stupid I'm looking for horse that is good with a somewhat of a beginner that is free to a good home. I know this sounds pathetic but a friend of mine is letting me keep a horse at her place. I'm planning on taking lessons and the friend that's letting me keep a horse at her place is willing to help me out with a horse. I just need something to look forward to after my gastric bypass surgery. Something to work with, spoil, love, and more or less a reason to get up in the morning. Anyway, if anyone knows of any horses or hear of any let me know. I really do know this sounds bad but sometimes people can get lucky and find a decent horse that's free to a good home.
I'm looking for a stocky mare or gelding 6 years to 20 years old and 14.3h to 15.2h. I'd rather a paint or quarter horse type. Please private msg me if you or someone you know might have something I'm interested in.
