Hops Hops and more Hops...

Well I planted my hops about a week ago...and in that week it shot up like crazy...I've been watering them every three days, and like a proud parent today I decided to water them and rotate them...and I dropped one...I have them planted in pots until the weather becomes stable, and I lost one in the sink...I quickly pulled it out and replanted it...but of course it was the hops plant with the longest stem first of all, which I then hat to trim at the breaking point......and I have them on a board over the laundry tub, and the minute it fell the washer started to drain...AHH! But I saved it, replanted it...and cleaned up my mess...
I'm planning on putting them outside this weekend and then they won't fall again...

More to Come...

Whatta Hops Planter I am...

Well, I left my hops plants at a friends house, he was babysitting them for me while I was on vacation...just picked them up, three weeks from vacation. These things are HUGE! One didn't grow this year, so maybe next year, the other two are just big and wild...I'd say about 2 feet, which is small as far as hops go, but they really haven't had a chance to grow, they need to be transplanted, and they need to grow up a line or something. SO when that happens they'll go crazy.

so what is the life cycle of hops? I would have thought this would be late for planting.
