Thanks that seemed to work...though as an experienced web developer, i have to tell you that the trouble i had indicates two area that may warrant a bit of attention:
1- this site is intended primarily (though not exclusively) for people in
WI. I might be a good idea to make the default timezone CST, as most of your users will be set to CST.
2- I have two separate places to setup/configure personal information; two different "profiles," with some information seeming to be common to both, and some that is not. I looked for a timezone setting in my site profile, didn't find it, and eventually realized there i had another profile, just for the forum. This is a prett significant usability problem.
3- Though not directly related to the timezone issue, it is a significant usability issue: The menu at the left is "organized" (almost) alphabetically. This is functionally the same as ordering it randomly. It is far more efficient, and useful, to have these items grouped based on their function.
just my 2 cents. If you're interested, i'd gladly take a closer look at the site. There may be other ways to improve the overal accessibility of the information and services provided.
