Forum keeps logging me out!

Why is it I can't even remain idle for 5 minutes without being logged out?? I've noticed this on other vBulletin sites and it is positively the most annoying thing in the world!

Any tips? Is there a setting I can change?

Hm, haven't heard of this happening.. what browser are you using? How often has it happened? Is it only happening here?

Case in point -- I just had to login again to post this after posting another reply about five minutes ago.

I was using Chome but am now using IE9. I've noticed it on other vBulletin sites too. And I don't have "private surfing" enabled or anything.

It's almost like there's an auto-logout setting somewhere, or a "keep me logged in for X minutes" option. Can't find that setting though.

Oh, and I had to log back in AGAIN between after clicking submit on that post above, which only took about 30 seconds to write.

And again to actually submit it! Holy smokes.

I'm referring this thread to PK, our new Admin, via PM and will send it along to Support as well.. we have (what I think is) a similar issue on another of our sites.. what occurs is the site appears to log you out but you are actually still logged in. If you can still post, etc. despite being "logged out", this might be happening to you. Is this also what's happening in your case?

So far, no one else has reported having any issues.

First I've ever heard of such an issue. I'm sorry you're having difficulties.

You mention you have the same problem on other vB sites. Do you have cookies enabled? You should, at least for the "current session."

Well, that's no fun.

You could try these things:
Open Control Panel and click Internet Options
(or click Start->Run and type inetcpl.cpl and hit Enter)

Now, on the Security tab, reset all zones to default levels.
Next, go to the Advanced tab and Restore Advanced Settings.

Save the changes and restart Internet Explorer. Hopefully, that will do it. It's also possible that you have some software installed that erases cookies.
