There are a number of reason why your post may have been moved, deleted, or edited by a moderator, admin, or staff.
Off-Topic Posts
If you think of theBubbler as you would a good book, you'll realize that, just like a book, theBubbler is divided into "chapters" called sub-forums, each devoted to a specific type of content or topic.
To make it easy to find posts or threads relating to a particular subject area, it's important to make sure they are posted where they belong according to subject.
Keep in mind that each post you make is also indexed by the search engines so others searching for a particular subject on Google may also find your post.
Making a post in the proper sub-forum increases the chances of your post being found by those interested in the subject you're posting about.
As one example, making a post about your favorite hamburger in the Cooking - Eats and Drinks sub-forum will make sure the search engines index your post about
hamburgers along with the keywords
cooking, eats, and drinks as well.
So, you can see, just as in a book, putting your post or thread in the proper "chapter" (or sub-forum, in this case) actually increases it's chances of being read.
Posting in the wrong sub-forum or area is one reason your post may be moved.
If your post is moved, a moderator will typically leave behind a marker (
pr "redirect") showing where the post has been moved to.
Postspamming
Because some areas or priveleges may be blocked or restricted until a member has made a certain number of posts, a new member may attept to post content-less posts or threads in an attempt to raise their post count. Posting a post or thread with the intent to raise one's post count is frowned upon and your post or posts may be deleted and the appropriate action may be taken against the member account which may range from a simple warning to a permanent ban.
Inflammatory or Inappropriate Content
Your post may be deleted or edited in the case of making inflammatory or inappropriate remarks in a post or thread. Flaming, trolling, or flamebaiting are not tolerated. In addition, we do not allow the posting of adult content on theBubbler.
We may also edit a post (rarely) or post title to correct spelling. Misspelled words in the thread title, for example, make it harder to find when searching for your post.
Don't assume because something you have posted has been moved, deleted, or edited, that you have done something wrong or you are "in trouble". The moderator will always contact you via PM if you have done something "wrong". Typically it's a simple matter of "house cleaning".
If you have any questions, feel free to reply in this thread or PM a moderator or admin for clarification.
