signature help
Hi
I'm trying to add a signature and I'm having a problem.
I'm trying to use something like this:
<a href="mysite.com "> something here < / a >
Well you get the idea.
How do I do this? I entered the above code the right way and it just shows the html tags.
Do you need to be above so many posts before this works? I know some websites require this.
Any ideas?
Also, I added a link to the link directory but I don't see it. So I went to add the link again and it says the link is in the system. Does a mod need to approve the link first?
Thanks

Re: signature help
Try just using the wysiwyg editor (the little icons above the text field) instead of typing in the code.
TheBubbler.com uses bbedit or bbcode or some such thing instead of html, and the tag structure is slightly different.
Hope this helps.
We'll have videos up one day to show a step-by-step on everything, major and minor, and we'll list those next to the text in the FAQs.
Thanks for asking; hope this helps.
Regards,
Keith

Re: signature help
Hi Keith
bbcode, ok I get it now.
So I'll use something like this but without the spaces:
Code:
[ url=http://www.mysite.com/]something here[ /url]
Thanks for your help!

Re: signature help
Hi Carol
It's not really hard to understand after you get a general idea on how it works.
You see a nice website on your screen but what goes into making it happen. Try this:
On your mouse right click and select View Page Source. Wow look at all that stuff.
And then you have stuff like css and sql, ok I can see why you say it looks like greek.. lol

Re: signature help
Oh I know!! I have done view source on my own website and I swear I didn't type all that. The host I go thru did it for me as I keyed in things.
Home
I used their templates and typed in my words and uploaded my pictures. I didn't have to do anything fancy. They did all that strange coding.....
100 yrs ago I took a DOS class and passed with a A
LOL, I dont remember a thing from that class now. I never used it once class was done

Re: signature help
Here's a great place to get to understand the concepts, Carol.
http://www.davesite.com/webstation/html/
Do a half dozen of the mini-chapters (5 minutes or less each) and you'll have a good understanding of the basic structure of html, the basic language of the web.
Regards,
Keith
