Creating Your Member Profile
I've noticed that a lot of members have not put information into their member profiles. It's very easy, just follow the steps below.
When you update your profile, post to this thread so we can learn more about you!
-----------------------
To update your profile information
1. Log in to theBubbler
2. Click "Your Account > My Public Profile"
3. Click the icon that looks like a wrench in the upper right corner of the "About Me" block
4. Fill out the form
5. Click "Save Changes"
-----------------------
To add interests to your profile
1. Log in to theBubbler
2. Click "Your Account > My Public Profile"
3. Under the "My Interests" block, click "Add Interest"
4. Type an interest into the box
5. Click "Add"
6. Repeat this process to add more interests
7. Click the "X" at the top of the "Add Interest" box to close it

Re: Creating Your Member Profile
I've tried many times to add photos with no success, invite members to be in my 'circle' (I finally figured that one out), and a few other issues. lol But I'm plugging along on it all...
I do however wonder if there is a way to just input the 'about me' from the old bubbler. I wrote all about me before and would like to just add that one back on this profile. For some reason I'm having writer's block and can't think of much to say. lol

Me too, pk, me too.
These new profiles are really cool, though. Check out your own 'Home Page' (visible to you, but not others, I believe) as well. Get to it from your public profile page.
Thanks, Kristen, for adding some basics here. Understand you have an FAQ coming too.
Regards,
Keith

We'll have a bunch of formal documentation coming soon. In the meantime, it would be great to know what members would like help on. If you'd like a tutorial to help with a feature on theBubbler, please post your requests to this thread:

Yes I have accessed this page and this is where I get confused. The section where there is an outline of a 'body' and it says to click here to upload your image...does nothing for me. I have also changed from a gray blue to purple (lines that separate the boxes) and it turns back to the gray blue when I come back later to the page. My social actions: I put a smile here but have no idea where it shows up. lol I just now changed it to a wave..so somewhere I am waving at everyone??
Another thing I noticed is no where I can see that it shows up if I receive a private message. I finally figured out to have it notify me by email if I get a comment in my guestbook whew...but so far I have to click on the private messages to see if I have a new one. How can I change that to show up if a new one is there to read? I would love a little flashing box when a new private message is in.
Since I have limited time lately to come on the site I find I keep plugging along trying to figure things out and not posting like I use to do. But someday...I will figure it out enough to feel comfortable again. lol

Up at the top right it says:
Welcome, MichelleC.
Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 19.
Links: Your Account Log Out
I just watch to see if that number changes.

Thanks for posting here, it's really helpful to know what people are having trouble with.
I just figured out the Social Actions area. It's a way to say a quick hello to a member. The message goes into that member's Private Messages box.
1. Select action from the drop down menu (i.e. wave, smile, poke)
2. Type a brief message in the text box below the drop-down menu
3. Click "Go" to send your message
The picture issue and profile colors changing back are odd! What browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer) and version of that browser are you using? I just tested the photo upload with IE7 and Firefox 2.0.0.7 and it worked. Clicking that default image of the "body" should take you to another page with an upload feature.

Re: Creating Your Member Profile
We just put up a bunch of documentation on member profiles in the FAQ section. Hightlights include posting 'About Me' info, adding interests, creating static pages and customizing blocks and backgrounds.
One thing I've noticed with the new site is that there's multiple ways to do the same thing. If you have tips or tricks to share, please post them here and I'll update the FAQ as appropriate.
