featured forums/members?

I just noticed on the front page this forum topic was mentioned:

I found this interesting and wondered if forums are picked at random, or is there an actual method of picking a forum. How long are they featured? A week?

I simply was just wondering with all the forums that are soo great (including this one on morning glories) it would be difficult to pick which one to feature.

I noticed members are featured also...is there a big drum you throw everyone's name in and they just get 'picked'? LOL I can just see a huge bubbler barrel and Keith turning it each week! lol

I'm sure others must wonder this also or am I the only one that has these weird questions? lol lol

These all come from the Water Cooler News, our weekly email newsletter.

Each week a category is chosen, like "sports."

Based on that category a link category, forum post, Amazon item, and (if possible) a member and classified ad are chosen.

I signed up for the Bubbler News when I first became a member and never received anything. Does it come in my email? I wondered about this for awhile and then signed up a second time but can't remember if it said I was a member or if it just took it....anyways, just signed up again. And it said I would recevied a notification in my email.

I'll see if I get anything in my email like it posted I would get. I never received anything before, but now I'm wondering if it may just go into my bulk and I've over looked it?

How often does the water cooler news get sent out?

myself, I enjoy the WCN. It's how I found out I was a 'Featured Member'. :lol:

OK, when signing up it states you will receive an email to confirm. Well I get a ton of emails a day so I go through them quickly and if I don't recongize the email I usually skip or delete it.

Well I almost did that today until I took a second look 8O 8O

That is what I saw with a quick looking...and I had NO idea what listman was until I looked more closely and then it had the bubbler on it.

Whew...I bet if I received a notice to confirm before I just missed it. I think it also states it will only give you 24 hours? I think to confirm also.

OK, all is right with the world now. I confrimed and I will get this water cooler news I keep reading about!
