Just want to spotlight this and draw attention to the importance of donating blood year-round.. From the site:

BloodCenter of Wisconsin is encouraging people to share life by donating blood, joining the Be the Match Marrow Donor Registry and registering to become an organ, tissue, and eye donor.

The Red Cross just had a blood drive at our school this Spring. We do this once a year and it's held in the gym.

My daughter decided to be brave (she HATES needles) and conquer her fear last year and she donated. I was so proud that she decided on her own to try this. She did really great until time to get up and sit in a chair. All of a sudden I notice she wasn't listening and had a blank stare and down she started to go. Had to lay back down for awhile until she could leave. lol She didn't attempt it this year!
