Ukraine Flu -H1N1 mutation compared to 1918 Flu Outbreak

Just when you thought it was time to panic over swine flu along comes a mutation of that virus. Outbreak of the Ukraine flu already has 10,000 cases and 400 deaths in Ukraine and Norway. It's more resistant than the H1N1 virus.

I have to wonder if all these flu shots are making viruses mutate into something worse. I'm not a flu shot kind of person since I never seem to get the flu.

Ukraine flu - Health Ministry confirms high death toll and nearly 10,000 cases in the past 24 hours

Re: Ukraine Flu -H1N1 mutation compared to 1918 Flu Outbreak

Back when I was taking my Typography class we had gone into the whole history of type and how history shaped what type styles were used. During the Black Death/Bubonic plague time period the type styles created showed little illustrations of death on the capital letters. The Spanish flu was also brought up in my class. My teacher said we haven't had a pandemic in a long time and were due for one. That was 3 years ago.

Here's some examples of a Black Death alphabet.

Search Results: Items matching initials taken from Die Bücher-Ornamentik Der Renaissance (1878)

Black Death was estimated to be 75 million people that died in the 1300s, which was up to 60% of Europe's population. The Spanish flu in 1918 killed 50 million people or 3% of the world's population.
