Appleton Ranks #1 in the State for WALKING

If you're in the mood for taking a walk, Appleton walks the walk.

Prevention magazine and the American Podiatric Medical Society rate Appleton the number-one city in Wisconsin for walking. Appleton ranks #11 in the nation for best walking cities.

Among the criteria Appleton rates highly in -- percentage of adults who walk to work and walk for fitness, number of parks per square mile, and use of mass transit.

Appleton sounds like a great place in many ways. We are lucky here though we have some very nice areas down by our beautiful lake front that we walk at. My kids and I plan on walking more this Spring, it is the best exercise.

I used to walk an average of 15 miles a day I'll bet.. hiking trails and such.. knees won't take it anymore!
