Signs a child has played The Choking Game include:

Bloodshot eyes
Frequent or unusual headaches
Marks on the neck
Wear marks on bed posts or closet rods

There's better ways to get a head rush than from choking. We need to take the time with the children to be certain they understand the pros and cons of head rush achievement.

Chemically induced head rushes are frowned upon, and generally not an accepted method to have that rush that just doesn't stop.

Try to stimulate your child to read good books...(as you see fit). Another way to fulfill that want for a "higher" existence is through yoga, and diet. If the kid is choking their self in order to find an "escape", encourage an artistic approach, such as music, or drawing, painting, or creative writing.

As you may suspect by reading this post, I have no children to speak of.
