8 Study Snacks That Make Kids Smarter

With school starting in a few days, here is an article that may help our children.

8 Study Snacks That Make Kids Smarter

Ask any kid, second-grader, or swaggering senior: Studying makes you hungry! Memorizing math formulas? Chips and soda are part of the equation. Digging into Moby Dick? Harpoon a bag of M&Ms.
Actually, the idea's right on -- eating can help the brain focus, if you know which foods to choose. But gee, surprise, candy and chips aren't among them.
What will help kids who are cracking the books? It depends on what kind of help they need, but it comes down to one of two Cs:

I'm going to have to try some of those... I'm sure they apply even more to studying for college. This might be what saves me this semester especially with us "college" kids being known for having the WORST possible diets due to different eating times, stress levels, partying and all the fast food.

Thanks for posting this! Time for me to do some grocery shopping.

Re: 8 Study Snacks That Make Kids Smarter

I'm surprised this thread didn't get more attention the first time around..

Healthy snacks are just as important as healthy meals.. great article, still worth a read!

Re: 8 Study Snacks That Make Kids Smarter

Here is another great site with 25 great fun and tasty snacks. The great part it's not just for kids, these sound great even for an adult to eat. yum.

Re: 8 Study Snacks That Make Kids Smarter

Does anyone have healthy snack ideas they feel helps their kids at school, before a test, or before they start their homework?

Re: 8 Study Snacks That Make Kids Smarter

Snacks don't necessarily have to have "recipes". The simpler, the healthier. Our family including young kids like to snack on whole, raw almonds. Very family family - easy to transport, no refrigeration needed, great "finger food", and protein-packed nutrition.

Re: 8 Study Snacks That Make Kids Smarter

Not only the simpler, the better.. but also, the less processing, the healthier (in general)..

Re: 8 Study Snacks That Make Kids Smarter

I saw a graphic the other day that showed that the typical prison inmate ate a healthier lunch than most school children.

I suspect this is partly because school children are given choices as to what they eat..
