I used to LOVE biking. I felt young and free when ever I rode. I learned very young and discovered I had soo much freedom, I could actually ride all over town see more than ever before.
With my 1st real full-time job , I bought a bike to ride to work. I lived maybe 3 miles form work at the time. Then I moved further away the bike days were behind me.
Later in life I took it up again and I was lucky that my employer had showers so I could shower after I got to work. It was fantasitic!! It made me fresh in the morning and at night it relieved the stress of the day.
I was down-sized and now my current employer does not have showers
I also gained so much weight, I sure miss those biking days.
I used to take weekend rides on those geat wisconsin rails to trails.
I am sooooo out of shape it sometimes gets me down.
Do yourself a favor and try one of those trails.
