Incident report from Platteville Police Department:
At approximately 9:10 p.m. (on April 8) a female subject, identified as Susan L. Sunderdance, 50, rural Platteville, entered the Movie Gallery in Platteville and confronted an employee with a handgun.
At least two shots were fired by Sunderdance at the scene. No one was injured.
Sunderdance was taken into custody at the scene. She was transported to the Grant County Jail.
I have to wonder if she was a disgruntled employee or something... I know their movies are $8 to rent, but to go shooting the place up? I'm nosey, i like knowing the story behind what sets people off

Wow! That is scary! My son goes to college in Platteville but I don't think he ever goes to the Movie Gallery. But he does go to Culvers which is next to there. I will have to ask him why he didn't tell me about this!
It's a good thing no one was hurt. Too many nuts out there.

I know the family and woman personally over many years. She is a danger to no one, and allegedly this guy molested her 14 year old son who has aspergers syndrome, a form of autism. She simply broke. She knows it was wrong and it isnt like her AT ALL. This person was a close friend of the family and spent a lot of alone time w her boys over a number of years. The betrayal and alleged act on her son was simply too much and 3 drinks made her not THINK. She is a crack shot and drunk or sober if shed wanted him dead he would be. She wanted a confession and being drunk picked the worst way to get one.... and hurt and broken and angry she also shot off her mouth saying she wanted to kill him. She didn't. I know this. Its very very tragic. Please do not worry for your kids or safety. She told the college students in the store that she was not there to hurt them and they needn't worry...and she told they why she was there and about her son and this guy allegedly molesting him, from what Ive been told.
Please pray for her and hers. If it were me I am not sure what Id do. My kids are my everything and crimes of passion happen when one is simply unable to cope w horror...and for Susan this is the most horrible thing ever to happen in her life and to her precious son.
Thank you for posting the rest of the story. I can understand her anger. I'm sure most people can. I'm glad she had no intention of killing anyone, even though no one else would know that for sure. You never know, people are unpredictable. I hope everyone involved gets the help they need.

She thinks someone may be molesting her son, so she risks many lives to get a confession?? Many people could have died, there is no excuse for that. Sounds like she needs to be put away in a padded room, so that others are not in danger. She may very well be a wonderful person within... however, she's a danger to society if she can convince even one person that 3 drinks is enough for her to lose all regard for others lives. IMO
Did she call & report the abuse? Did she go after the guy one on one? or did she just choose to start a building full of sleeping people on fire & whoever dies will have just been caught in the crossfire of her drunken night? sick.
I am a mother & i cant imagine suspecting someone is harming my kids... but would i go & start a building on fire in the middle of the night, while others sleep, risking the lives of all those innocent people? Just to get a point across? She should not be walking the streets IMO
Having people walking around free, who have proven to have no regard for the lives of others & use alcohol as an excuse... way too many of those walking the streets already.

Latina I think you may have the incident of the shooting in Platteville mixed up with the fire in the Music Shop building in Richland Center. No one was killed in either incident but they both certainly could have had very tragic endings.
The woman who started the fire in her apartment in Richland Center was suffering from prior mental illness and I am thinking they might rule that way at her upcoming hearing. I don't know anything about the woman who fired the gun at the Movie Gallery in Platteville but unfortunately she will have to pay for the bad decision she made by trying to take the law into her own hands. I feel sorry for all involved and all those who have lost everything as a result. Two very sad stories for sure.

I know the story too, and the guy didn't FN do it. That woman had no right taking a gun to the movie gallery. A 357 magnum to be exact.
The molestation charges were dropped and both the police and the kids therapist say it never happened.
She may be a close friend to you, but she better chill off behind bars. Where she belongs
