Famous world known artist Schim Schimmel sent two Limited Edition Artist Proof Prints directly to us to help with the auction. His comment was "For the auction, for doing what you do to help the world."

This print is called Leap Of Faith. It is a collector's edition and is stamped and personally signed by Schim himself. This print is 121 of 395. Size is 29" by 29". This painting has a hand made Certificate of Authenticity direct from Schim. The markup for his paintings are huge across seas especially in Japan. The price is quoted from Schim as being only a wholesale price. Their comment was this: ".... we just want you to get as much as possible for your rescue however whatever price you get from the pieces to help your cause then that will make us happy..." What a great person!

You need to be clear as to whether people are bidding on a painting or a print as there is a difference. Also, is this framed?

You are correct but I believe that this is neither a print or a painting. I think it is a serigraph. It should be clarified.
It is stated that it is numbered so I would rule out a painting or as its called original.( It will usually say oil on canvas or something like that.)
Prints are not numbered.
If the numbers are low say 1-50 or 60 they are usually an AP. This means Artist Proofs.
Larger counts could be runs 1-2500 or more. Serigraphs are made by hand using a silkscreen to transfer the image. There are other methods used but this is the most common.
Prints are made by machine usually using a 4 color process printed by Web presses.

Sorry, they are prints. Hand selected by Schim Schimmel himself for my auction. The dimensions of this print is approx 29" by 29". I did take pictures myself of these items but Schim's guy Kirk sent me higher quality pictures to use for this. It is identical and stamped and personally signed by Schim before they were sent to me. No this one and the other one are not framed and shipping is at bidder's expense. If you would like to see my pictures of them, let me know and I can either post them here or email them to you. It was such a hard choice to decide which print I was keeping as they sent three. Two for the auction and one for myself. I got to choose the one of my choice. All valued at the same price. They are so incredibly beautiful you have no idea.

But to be 100% sure I will call or send out an email to them asking them for their correct information. I will know tomorrow. Sorry for the confusion. I have never had anything this nice in my possession before and don't really know the correct term of their pieces.

Ok...think I got the correct info now. I received an invoice via email from Kirk, Schim's left hand man regarding shipment and value of the pieces. Here is what it states and I hope this will clarify things:

"Leap of Creation Artist Proof 24x24P 121/395 wholesale value $600"

The whole picture measures 29"x29" which includes the border. Here is my picture which I don't have nice camera so it don't do it justice:

An artist proof is not necessarily a serigraph as I have owned and sold many artist proof prints over the years. Typically the artist will pull a limited number of prints from the regular run to check for quality and for his personal use (as in this case). In other cases, the artist may not even be directly involved at all and a limited number are pulled by the printer as a limited edition with the artist's approval. They could be serigraphs but unless they are explicitly stated as such it would be more correct to identify them as limited edition artist proof prints (which would be true in either case).

I'll change the title of the thread to reflect this so potential bidders do not believe they are bidding on a painting.

Kirk sent me an email explaining the prints. He asked for me to include his letter in these posts. I hope this will clarify all questions:

Hi Kelly,

It was nice to talk to you.

Here is the info on each piece hope this helps;

"MoonDance" is one of Schim's earliest Serigraphs ever printed. He painted this piece in 1989. It was printed as a Serigraph on Paper at an image size of 23 x 30. The edition size is 395 plus proofs, this is one of Schim's personal artist proofs AP# 59/60.

"Mother Earth, Father Sky" One of Schim's more recognized pieces was painted in 1996 and is Sold Out. It was printed as a Giclee on Paper at an image size 24 x 29. The edition size is 300 plus proofs, this is one of Schim's pieces from his personal collection and numbered as HC# 21/50.

"Leap of Creation" focusing on one of Schim's favorite animals to paint, the White Tiger, painted in 2000. It was printed as a Giclee on Paper at an image size 24 x 24. The edition size is 395 plus proofs, This is one of Schim's pieces from his personal collection and numbered as 121/395.

Schim was very moved by Kelly's story and her efforts to protect her finned Friends. All three of these pieces came out of Schim's Personal collection of prints. Each piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and A Certificate Cover which only accompanies his Private Collection pieces.
